Att Skriva Om Spel

Jag kör en dubbelpost, det är ju ledig fredag och allt så ni borde hinna läsa båda.

Something Awful finns det en sida på nätet som heter. Jag har egentligen ingen koll på vad dom gör men i vilket fall som helst har dom nu lagt ut en text där dom listar vad som var förra årets allra sämsta spelartiklar (del 1, del 2).

Jag håller egentligen inte med om så mycket av vad dom säger men det är ändå riktigt rolig läsning. Såhär skriver dom till exempel om The Escapist:

“The Escapist is what becomes of horrible gaming journalism when it makes the mistake of taking itself too seriously and considering itself too hip. It is an entire magazine of worst articles of the year. In fact, our old pal Kieron had a gigantic masturbatory article in the debut issue. Occasionally an industry insider will get something resembling an idea and pitch an article in as well, usually one that’s extremely defensive or moaning about the horror of the development cycle. If you want an idea of how egotistical and annoying it is then look no further than the site’s unpleasant navigation design. They had to be, like, totally hip and different. Let’s give them a big round of snaps.”

Nya tidningar på nätet som faktiskt verkar ha något att säga. Finns det? Jadu, kanske här.

The Escapist skriver såhär om sig själva: “The Escapist covers gaming and gamer culture with a progressive editorial style, with articles and columns by the top writers in and outside of the industry.”

Med ett spännande format, som mer liknar en tryckt tidning än en nättidning, och med artiklar innehållandes meningar som “Let me tell you what I saw on MTV. I won’t admit to watching that channel on purpose. Let me instead suggest that while switching between two other channels - each one dedicated to the higher pursuits of the mind - I happened to stumble upon your Music Television and see something that struck me as odd…” verkar det ju i alla fall bli rolig läsning.
